Le Creuset’s cast-iron 2-in-1 pan (known as a marmitout) is a versatile piece of cookware suitable for any kitchen. The base, which serves as a 1-quart saucepan, and the lid, which doubles as a nonstick 7-inch omelet pan, are beautifully finished in double-coated porcelain enamel and can be used on the stove, under the broiler, and in the oven. Both pans feature a metal handle and the saucepan’s small helper handle makes lifting it from the oven or stovetop an easier task. Heatproof gloves or a dry cloth are required to lift these pans because the metal handles get hot. Wooden, plastic, and nylon tools should be used, and an instruction manual with recipes is included.
