User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars Not Enough Leverage

It was doing the job with the big blade.

After a few uses I decided to have thinner fries so I switched to the smaller blade but the lever was unable to push the potato through. I applied too much pressure and the whole thing broke, it is unusable now.

I hate to cut fries with a knife they all come uneven. I will buy a restaurant quality cutter I hope for better luck then.

5 Stars Great, time saving device!
I’ve owned this item for 4 or 5 years and I love it. It’s a great time saver. I use it most often for cutting potatoes for french fries, but also cutting potatoes, onions and green peppers for making soups. Onions and green peppers are cut to just the right size for making homemade soups or freezing for omelets. Cut potatoes as you would for fries and then slice by hand into bite size pieces. If you have a bag of frozen peas, carrots, corn and green beans you’re all set for a quickly put together veggie soup!

4 Stars Perfect French Fries
I have only used this device for cutting potatoes into french fries. I imagine you could cut other vegetables with it, but I have not tried.

It cuts potatoes fine and comes with two blades. One for larger fries, and one for close (but a little big) shoestrings.

The bottom of the device is rubber and acts like a suction cup. You engage the cup by turning a metal lever on one side of the machine. The cup on the bottom really adheres to a flat counter top if both the cup and counter are clean. I don’t know how it would work on a uneven counter such as tile, I imagine it wouldn’t.

It is made out plastic but the lever arms are metal.

1 Stars Progressive Jumbo Potato Cutter
I would like to review this product…..but unfortunately it was scheduled to be here by January 12,2010 and today is February 1,2010 and it still has not arrived, so I am finding it difficult to review what I have not yet seen.

1 Stars Cheap plastic injured me
I purchased this at a local store. In it’s first use, the blades just bent akwardly, the plastic buckled, and was impossible to get a potato through. After enough force the potato finally sliced through, but the large ammount of force applied forced my fingers to get jammed between the lever and the base of the contraption. My fingers were sore for a week. The plastic is WAY too flimsy. If you want easier fries on the cheap, just buy a mondoline slicer. Otherwise, you’re stuck spending $50/+ on a professional one.
