5 Stars Best Storage Containers on the Market!!
I am a big believer in using storage containers and have tried almost every brand in existence but I have to be honest, when I first saw these in Kohls I thought they were just another average storage container and I didn’t pay them much attention at all. Then on a 2nd visit I decided to give them a closer look and boy am I glad I did. The lids are FANTASTIC. Yes they sink into the actual container around 3/4 of an inch thus taking away a bit of your storage space but I for one really don’t care. Ill just use a bigger container if it wont fit in a smaller once. The ease and quality of the seal is worth every bit of that 3/4 of an inch loss. These are easily the best lids EVER designed and I really expect these containers will become hugely popular in the years to come.

I have now been using these containers for over 5 months and my appreciation for them just continues to increase over time. I will now go as far as saying that these are the best storage containers ever designed, PERIOD. Tupperware, Pyrex, and all of the other popular brands simply cant compare. I still use Pyrex for some things as I own a lot of them however they just aren’t as nice or convenient as the POP containers.

The 3 2/5 Quart Storage Container is actually my favorite size POP container. I eat a lot of cereal and usually have at least 6-8 different brands in the cupboard at any given time. I have tried using Pyrex and Tupperware for storing cereal but it just doesn’t work very well. The 3 2/5 Quart POP Storage Container is absolutely perfect for cereal as it will easily hold a standard sized box and its easy to pour a bowl right out of the container. I now have 8 of the 3 2/5 Quart Storage Containers and since I started using them I have noticed a big difference in the freshness of my cereal, especially the cereals like corn flakes and Raisin Bran. I just love these containers.

The bottom line - These are hands down the best storage containers on the market and while they are a bit expensive, they are absolutely worth every penny. If your a big cereal eater like me then the 3 2/5 Quart Storage Container should be a mandatory addition to your kitchen.

5 Stars LOVE!!!!
I absolutely LOVE these containers. They are terrific. This cereal container handles a very large box of cheerios, with just a small bowl or two left in the bag. I recommend them to everyone. I am on a quest to redo my entire pantry with these. Cannot say enough about how wonderful they are. Did receive one broken, but Amazon had a new one sent out to me the next day.

5 Stars Love this container
I bought 5 more after buying it as part of a set. I love this container

5 Stars Big decision
Overview:

I have purchased many of these storage containers, in various sizes. As with most OXO products, I have been extremely satisfied with them, and I would buy them again. More importantly, my wife appears to be equally impressed with her gift.

That being said, I don’t think they would work as well for everyone, as they do for us. They are expensive, and they are not necessarily the best choice for a home with small children. As such, I will provide you with my observations, and leave it up to you to decide how they would fit into your personal lifestyle.

The pros:

They seal flawlessly, and with great ease. I believe they are the best product available for keeping the freshness in, and the bugs out. They stack nicely, and their clear siding permits easy identification of the contents within. Their rounded corners make pouring a breeze.

These containers come in a variety of sizes, and meet all of our kitchen dry-storage needs. They work for everything from baking goods, to cereals and crackers, to bread. Yes, the two largest container sizes can hold a normal-sized loaf of bread, and keep it fresh for much longer.

They have really helped organize the pantry, which looks great, and makes it much easier to evaluate how much of a product requires replentishment, prior to shopping.

The cons:

First, many of them (especially the larger sizes) are not packaged well for shipping, and they have arrived in broken condition. Fortunately, Amazon Customer Service has promptly replaced them, without delay. To me, the long-term convenience far outweighs the short-term frustration.

Second, we have not broken any of them after delivery, but we are also quite careful in their handling. I’m not sure how well they would do with small children, so be advised before you invest. I suspect a single drop on the hard kitchen floor would result in a damaged container, but I am not willing to test my hypothesis at this price.

Third, they are not dishwasher safe, except for the silicon sealing ring. For us, this has not been a major issue, but it may be a problem for others. Personally, we have found their non-pourous construction to be easy to clean, so we don’t mind hand washing them.

Pre-purchase planning:

Be aware that for stacking purposes, the containers come in three shapes (from the top view): small-square shape, large-square shape, and rectangular shape. While you can sometimes mix them for stacking, in general, I find that it is best to stick to one shape (for a particular stack).

Also, be aware that you get more bang-for-the-buck with the larger sizes. The relationship between the price of the container and the volume of storage is indirect. In short, less storage costs you more money.

In general, I find the large-square shape and the rectangular shape to be the most beneficial. They permit easy access, and they allow the buyer more options regarding what to put in them. That being said, understand that the prepackaged sets tend to come with a lot of the small-square shaped containers.

The smallest sizes have limited functionality, but can be useful for storing raisons, small candies, etc. As for the spices mentioned by the manufacturer, spices usually come in a bottle. For those that don’t, I believe there are better (and cheaper) products available.

Summary:

For those willing to deal with the shipping issues, the risk of future breakage, and the hand-washing, I think this is by far the best product on the market. With care, they will save you money in the long-run because: they keep things fresh, they keep the bugs out, and they make it easy to avoid the over-buying or the under-buying of groceries. They are a quality product, and they make the kitchen look great.

Whether you want to buy many of them or just a few, I generally recommend the larger sizes. They provide the best bang-for-the-buck, and permit greater flexibility. Specifically, I would start with a few of the large-square types to see if you like them as much as I do.

Thank you for those who posted before me. Much of what I have said consolidates what you mentioned before, and really helped with my purchasing decisions. For those of you still stuck in the decision-making process; good luck! I hope this helps out a little.

5 Stars amazing containers
I live in an older home with a small pantry.

There is so much to say about thse containers.

I currently have tupperware modular mnates. They fit nicely in my pantry with a HUGE variety of sizes BUT these OXO containers look SO much nicer. Cosmetic, yes. BUT they also keep things fresh.

Be careful and reallly look at the sizes.

The OXO plastic IS clear but it is also thicker & heavier than tupperware with no “give”.

The OXO lids are far superior to any other container I have come across. Easy on and off, keeps things fresh!! They are however MUCH thicker in height and fit deep into the containers due to their vacuum freshness. You have to hand wash the lids, only the gasket is dishwasher safe. The lids come apart easily for washing and I have not found any problems with a quick hand washing, yet.

I imagine the good people at OXO took a spaghetti noodle and added the height of the lid which is substantial (as far as storage containers go) and THAT is the tallest height of the containers.

Two tall small squares (what I would call the spaghetti container) seem to equal the max depth of the containers BUT these containers have a bit of a flare at the top …

Sadly my pantry has a small shelf in the back of the main cupboard and it is about 1-2 inches too low to slide a tall OXO all the way back … BUT these fit nicely in front of that shelf with 4 large angled lock-n-lock containers across the back shelf, it is absolutely perfect.

Under that back shelf the tupperware modular mates (which I have a ton of) fit reallly nicely (tupperware has a wider variety of sizes that fit perfectly into the cupboard so they seem to be more space-saving than the OXOs). I can fit 10 useful-sized modular mate containers behind the 5 OXO containers that fit across the face of the pantry. So things that do not go “bad” or stale get put behind the lovely OXO containers containers (like ramen, k-cups, packaged foods) and up front are the two OXO containers with cereal, a container with spaghetti, and two large squares filled with bulk chips and a bag of flour.

My original dream was to have my entire pantry filled with these containers … just like the picture for the sets that they sell … but they are too bulky for my small cupboards.

I love them!! I know this review sounds critical but I am in NO way unhappy with my purchase … I am however unhappy with my cupboards LOL.

I saw these at the King Arthur Flour website … thought about them for awhile … but they are so expensive, specially on THAT website LOL …. then I saw them at Kohl’s and brought one home for a trial period when I had some spare Kohl’s cash … I realllly like them.

I ordered 4 OXO containers from Amazon … one came broken … so I also wonder how durable they are … but just for their appearance and freshness factor alone … I would buy replacements!! I don’t forsee much dropping … accidents do happen but I am not willing to expirement at these costs LOL

Amazon QUICKLY replaced my container for free and no hassels!!! It wasn’t like I had a container emergency so the extra few days wait didn’t bother me … hey …. I have been waiting my entire life for these containers what’s a few more days LOL

Ugh Amazon DOES a POOR job of packaging these … or maybe it is OXO?!!! For the fragility of them during transit … OXO should prolly box them but they are sold with absolutely no packaging or stickers of any kind … there is a slip of paper inside of the containers and the ones I bought on amazon came in open plastic bags.

These reallly look NICE and keep food fresher longer! I would definitely buy them again! They definitely have a place in my cupboards!!
