3 Stars DISAPPOINTED- and not a multi-tasker
I purchased this flexible 4-cup measure to help me pour ingredients more easily and neatly into the bowl of my stand mixer because the space between the bowl edge and blade attachments is rather narrow. It is intended for LIQUID measure and works fine for this purpose. But, I am not at all happy with the size of the black lines next to each graduated measure. Each line is LESS than 1/4″ in length and there is NO black mark next to the 1,2,3 and 4 cup numerals( look closely at product image). The only whole “cup” markings are denoted by a barely visible thin clear ridge on the inside of the measuring cup which faintly shows from the outside. DON’T plan on using this flex cup to pour out any DRY ingredients for baking, etc. until you FIRST measure them in another more delineated/accurate measuring cup. A cheap flex mat would solve the DRY ingredient transfer into my stand mixer bowl just as well as this flex cup. In my opinion it’s not really a multi-tasker and I sure don’t need another item in my small kitchen pantry. Guess I should have looked longer and harder at the product image before making my decision to buy it!!
5 Stars One of my Faves!
This is basically my favorite kitchen tool of 2008. I make lots of breakfast breads, and I can measure, mix & pour from this cup. Scrapper/spatulas make it super easy to get all of your batter out, too. For waffles & pancakes, you can pour right onto the pan or griddle. I’ve use it to make iced tea, as the silicone can take high temperatures. It does NOT retain colors, flavors and smells from other foods, either.
5 Stars Measures accurately
I love this measuring cup and contrary to other comments , this cup measures accurately. Remember, you have to place this measuring cup at eye-level to read the measurement correctly. The full-cup lines are a bit hard to read, but they ARE accurate. Great design,
2 Stars Interesting idea. Basic flaw.
I bought the one-cup version. It’s accurate and the non-breakable, microwavable, and heat-resist material is great. In this larger version, the soft-sides could be useful in creating a narrow pouring spout. Extra height above the 4-cup line makes it easy to mix ingredients or handle cup without spilling.
HOWEVER, if you look closely at the picture, you’ll see that the 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-cup points don’t have printed lines. Instead, they are simply fine ridges running around the inside of the cup - and they become invisible when measuring liquids and very faint when measuring powders. How did this ever get past the design stage!? I’ve tried to make more noticeable marks on mine, but it’s difficult to create ones that are sufficiently thin, accurately positioned, and permanent.
It also doesn’t have ounces marked, which I find handy.
