1 Stars needs BIG improvements
I love this travel mug but…..I had one come apart after a years use, OMG the gunk that I was never able to clean out of the top was absolutely disgusting!! Not to mention I’d been drinking out of the mold infested cap for months! You see, this top does NOT come apart and there is NO WAY to properly clean them without destroying the seal-ability. Glad this happened to me eventually and before I got sick from the bacteria that was surely in that gunk; as I had been sold on this mug for about 5 years and never used another type.
Moving on to something new until OXO revamps my standby (gross) favorite.
1 Stars Smells and tastes like plastic, go with stainless steel
I bought and used this coffee mug, and I do not recommend it. The only reason is because my latte or tea tastes and smells like plastic whenever I use this mug. This is made of plastic (polycarbonate) and gives the chemical taste and smell to my drink. Polycarbonates leach hormone-disrupting chemicals into your beverage and also they can not be recycled easily. If you do not want to risk your health and use a more environmentally benign product, just use stainless steel travel mugs. I would go with the stainless steel version of the same brand. The design is nice and the seal works pretty well.
5 Stars Best travel mug ever
I ordered this cup a second time after I wore out my first one. It truly is spill-proof, and the first one survived multiple times of being dropped. The seal comes out easily for cleaning. I love this cup and use it every day. I had to order one for my husband after he saw mine.
4 Stars Nice mug for the $$
These are nice mugs for the price and have a good lid, no spills.
Little tough to wash out the lid mechanism as it is kind of large and is tough to get inside of all the way to scrub out, even with a bottle scrubber.
Pretty good though.
5 Stars Great for the car
I always had a problem with my hot drink spilling in the car. No more. This cup is so easy to lock and un-lock. I’m tempted to purchase another. My one qualm is it’s not dishwasher safe. O well can’t be perfect.
