A revolutionary new way to open jars. Innovative Swiss engineering tightens this tool’s jaws around the cap, even as the jar is being opened, so the opener never slips. The Kuhn Rikon Gripper stays locked on lids and doesn’t let go. Place The Gripper over jar lid, rotate turn-knob clockwise to tighten jaws onto lid. Tool locks in place. While holding the jar or bottle securely, grasp the handle and push counter-clockwise to open. Just loosen turn-know to release lid. The Gripper opens threaded caps and lids from 1-inch to 3.5-inches. Works on smooth-sided and grooved caps, too.

5 Stars Arthritis? Try this baby!
My husband is recovering from almost two years of surgeries so he’s still getting his strength back. Plus, he’s been plagued with arthritis for years now. We needed a strong, effective jar opener that would do the trick for him. This one fits the bill. The grip mechanism fits well on all sizes of jars and the lever design increases the force he’s able to apply when trying to open stuff. We did have to experiment a bit with it as one can hold the jar in such a way as to either push or pull on the lever and we’ve found that for him, it’s easier to pull. Once we figured that out, we were golden. Have to put this one on our growing list of “great accessibility finds” and we’d recommend it for anyone!
5 Stars A real life saver
I purchased one of these for my grandmother (who has pretty severe arthritis) a few months ago and everytime we talk she thanks me for this little gadget and tells me what a life saver it is. She used to ask family members to swing by her house just to help open jars and containers. It’s amazing that something as simple as this can help her reclaim some independence. The leverage that the lid grips and long lever provide are more than adequate to allow anybody, regardless of strength, to open any jar-top or twist off bottle.

This is a great kitchen tool for opening jars of various sizes. It easily locks down on the lid by turning the knob on top. The lever then gives all the purchase you need to open the jar. It’s a must for someone who has “lost their grip”, or never really had it!

Finally an opener that really works. My husband & I both experienced loss of strength in our hands, and I was getting very frustrated. This was just what we needed. I’ve spent a small fortune trying other openers, but this one is the very best.
