1 Stars Made me crabby
I bought this for my crab-lovin’ hubby and was really disappointed. I wanted something that would save his hands from getting cut and crab-juiced and would neatly and quickly open those hard-to-open shells. This tool did none of the above very well. We used it to open big Alaskan King legs and it was messy and tough to use. Will be looking for the ultimate weapon elsewhere…
2 Stars It’s barely ok, Get the Scizzors instead.
Since I live in dungeness crab country I’ve been searching for the best crab shell cracker. This tool looked good but in practice hasn’t really worked out. The thing will break open the larger leg pieces but it mashed the meat inside and it sprayed crab juice all over. While I expect some of this, it was worse than the regular nut crackers I usually use.
Look instead for the Progressive International, the 7-inch seafood scissors. These are working out way better. You only need one pair of them to share around the table per 3 people.
5 Stars Good little gadget
We really like this crab cracker. We used it for a crab picnic we had and it worked just fine. I will be ordering more for family members! Thanks for a great product.

it’s not as great as I thought but it does work. And I am glad I bought it. It does really help crack the shell. But it only cracks it on one side . But if you are always getting stabbed from the shells this does help.
