4 Stars Good Product
This is a great product to keep your whiskey cold. They do not get as cold as ice but they stay cold longer and dont water it down!

Norpro Bread Slicerand Guide with Crumb Catcher

Norpro Bread Slicerand Guide with Crumb Catcher

Acrylic bread slicer with wooden crumb catcher. Crumbs fall neatly into removable catcher. This is an adequate no-frills manual bread slicer, and adequate is the operative word. The crumb catcher eliminates messes, making this slicer a much cleaner option than slicing bread on a cutting board. Also, you can achieve uniform 1/2-inch slices; the only caveat is that you can’t adjust the slicer to cut any thicker or thinner. Use your longest serrated knife when cutting, because a knife that just barely spans the width of the slicing tray will keep slipping out of the acrylic slicing guides. The guides have no top support and tend to wobble a bit as you slice. They also have inexplicably high sides; you’d have to use triple the leavening to make bread that reaches the top of them. Despite its design limitations, the Norpro deluxe bread slicer is easy to assemble and maintain and has an attractive overall look. –Carol Gnojewski

3 Stars Norpro Bread Slicer
The slicer works well. I am a little disappointed that it slices such think slices, my homemade bread would be better if the slices were a little thinner. Also, I didn’t think about how much room this takes up, I have very little extra storage space in my kitchen. Other than that, I like it. Sue

5 Stars Bread slicing frame
Well thought-out design, easy to use, store, and clean. Materials and cnstruction are strong and simple.

2 Stars Wish this worked
This is cute. I sure wish it worked. It is way too wide for my bread and my knife. I figure it is so wide so it can fit a variety of breads but I have to anchor my loaf when slicing… and doesn’t help that my knife isn’t long enough. Very frustrating to use.

The tines make little larger than 1/2 inch slices -too thick for my liking. The tines are also very flimsy. Haven’t had any break yet but I am Very careful.

Cute idea but doesn’t work.

5 Stars Love it! Love it! Love it!
This item works so well. It is easy to use and you are able to cut the bread evenly. Highly recommend this item for bread machine users!

3 Stars Bread slicing guide
It’s kind of misleading, the title: Bread Slicer and Guide. It doesn’t slice anything, but it is a guide. The only thing is, it’s too wide. When I bake a loaf of bread, it never comes out as wide as this thing is. The bread knife is even too short to go all the way across from the first slice guide to the other. So, my mate removed one of the guides. I now hold my loaf with my hand, and using only the guide closest to me, I cut the bread. It should be about 2 inches narrower.

5 Stars Herb Keeper
My wife loves this item. She was specifically looking for something to store her fresh asparagus in, and she says that it works great.

5 Stars Smart Decision
My Cilantro lasts for weeks in this container. It works best without water. So I don’t add water at all. I am buying 2 more of these to keep Parsley and Asparagus.

4 Stars This really works
We love fresh basil and this herb keeper will keep it fresh outside of the refrigerator for over two weeks. It also works very well with asparagus in the refrigerator. This order was for my second keeper. My first ended up cracking when my husband put it in the dish washer, so don’t do that.

4 Stars Lid.
My lid wasn’t black. Its limegreen. Just saying.

Also, if you think it has a center divider like the rest of them do, you’re wrong. They just all cram together in there. No dividers.

3 Stars mine have cracked open, too
When I bought my first one, I thought it worked so well that I bought several more to give to family and friends. But after a couple of years, the cylinder cracked apart and would no longer screw on. I bought another, thinking I might have somehow mistreated it, but the same thing happened, even sooner. For the time being, I’m holding it together with rubber bands. But I think I might try a competing, slightly different product next time.

1 Stars Dont buy it, broke 2 weeks later
the peaces that hold and snap on the parts are plastic and all 3 of them broke off after 2 weeks of use, so I cant attached the attachments, I have to hold em by hand contacted to the motor, if you buy this blender which other then that is very good, get the metal one , thats a lil more expensive.

5 Stars Whatta Blender!
I’ve gone through maybe 5 hand blenders. They have lasted me 2 years at the most. I burn the motors up with heavy blending, mostly crushing ice cubes to make smoothies. The last one, a 350 watt Oster didn’t even make it through a year.

I’ve had this one for about a month, and it shows every sign of going the distance. I haven’t been gentle with mine.

Its two best features are the 550 watt motor which hardly even gets warm during the heaviest lengthiest chores, and the highly convenient speed control. The changable four bladed cutter is also very nice. Even the mini food processor which I initially took to be a throw-away, has turned out to be well-designed and useful.

I recommend that when you first try it out, that you run it on the speed control at a setting of 2. In the highest setting of 5 or Turbo mode, it will tug on your hand so strongly while blending that it may be hard to resist. It is not excessively noisy. Timid people may even find it a little scary at its highest setting due to its ability to tug on its handle during heavy blending.

Due to its ability to blend thick mixtures at maximum speed, you may find that it blends familiar items so that they are smoother than you have ever experienced. It can definately make quick work of just about any blending task.

Like most other small home appliances this one is made in China. It’s a little odd to me that it is marketed by a company that seems to be headquartered in Venezuela. It appears from some other comments that they stand behind their products and do have a viable US presence. 15 months is a pretty warranty for a product like this. The portion of the instructions that are in English are a lot skinnier than the ones in Spanish, but what does it take to run a blender and food processor?

4 Stars Powerful hand blender
A bit on the heavy side, but it has power to spare. It’s almost too powerful at times. The only annoying thing is that it’s covered in stickers written in spanish or italian, and they are difficult to remove. All in all, I recommend this anyone who needs a good hand blender. It can even turn ice cubes into slush in no time.

5 Stars Miallegro Hand Blender
This is a very convenient blender to have in our kitchen. The clean-up is easy and quick. Mixing, chopping, blending it does it all with no mess or hard to clean containers.

4 Stars Good product, excellent warranty.
I purchased this in college after I missed using my Mom’s Braun hand blender at home.

I hadn’t been able to find an affordable, but powerful hand blender until I came across this company. With the good reviews, I bought it immediately.

I used it for about a month and found that it did everything I wanted it to do. It was more than plenty powerful. I was a little disappointed that warning labels and most documentation was not in English. The different blades provided are supposed to be attached to the blender depending on what you are blending. It’s a little difficult to attach and remove the blade with the small metal hand tool they’ve provided. So, I usually just usually leave the grinder blade on at all times - seems to work well with most foods.

The only poor design of the product is the mechanism used to attach the different attachments (e.g. the whip) to the blender. It’s not very intuitive and takes a while getting used to because of the awkward design. There are three plastic ‘tabs’ that are used to secure the blender with its attachments. After the first month, one of these tabs broke off when I was attaching the chopper.

Very disappointed with the quality of the plastic, I called customer support. They said it was a common problem and that they would ship a new unit out immediately with a prepaid return label. I could use the return label to ship the broken unit back to them. They also said they would do this as many times as necessary (all at no cost) during the 15 months the product is under warranty. Now that’s a pretty amazing warranty service!

The customer representative also said that the 9080 model (metallic model) is a little less powerful and more expensive. However it still uses the same plastic tabs inside which cause the same problem. She said it does happen a little less in that model, but I’m not sure of that.

Hope this helps!
